Hale Barns burglar caught out as stolen ipad tracked

A man has been arrested in connection with a burglary in Trafford police have said.

The burglary happened on Thursday 13 January between 10am and 2pm when a property in the Hale Barns area was broken into. An Pad and a purse containing cards and £150 in cash were taken in the theft.

Luckily the iPad had tracking software enabled and was tracked.

Following enquiries police officers identified an address in the Ashton area where a 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of the burglary.

Further searches of the address also resulted in the stolen property being recovered.

Bike stolen from next to Pure Gym on George St in Altrincham

A bike was stolen from the bike stand on George Street next to Pure Gym in Altrincham on Saturday (17th July).

The theft occurred between 6pm and 6.30pm and was locked to the barriers when it was stolen after the lock was cut.

The owner had only purchased the Giant Escape 3 bike three months previously and spent £450 after saving for it.

Details of the theft were posted to the Timperley Community Facebook page.

Early morning thieves caught on camera checking vehicles and stealing milk in Urmston

CCTV caught a couple of suspected thieves stealing a doorstep delivery of milk from at least two houses and checking vehicles on Roseneath Road in Urmston.

The crooks struck in the early hours of Tuesday morning at 5.30 am.

The door step thief wore a black baseball cap with a red Manchester United logo, dark top, dark pants and was carrying a teal coloured shopping bag.

A woman who was with the man was also spotted on CCTV checking car doors on the same street, she was wearing a scarf, dark coloured top, light pants and brown boots .

The footage was shared on Facebook to the Urmston M41’ers group which has over 33 thousand members.

One of the members reported seeing the couple with a black car parked round the corner from Roseneath Road on Grosvenor Road and were placing items in the boot shortly after.

Anyone with information about the suspects  is asked to call police on 101.

 

Bike stolen from next to Pure Gym on George St in Altrincham

A B’Twin mountain bike was stolen from the bike stand on George Street next to Pure Gym in Altrincham yesterday (18th June).

The theft occurred between 6.30pm and 7pm and was locked to the barriers when it was stolen after the lock was cut.

CCTV shows sneaky thief stealing a woman’s phone in broad daylight

A crafty thief used a ruse involving leaflets to steal a woman’s phone.

It is believed the sneaky thief held leaflets over the victims mobile phone while it was left on the table before picking it up and calmly walking out of the restaurant without anybody realising what had happened.

The theft happened at the North Star Deli in Chorlton on Saturday afternoon and the footage was shared on the Chorlton Facebook page in a bid to raise awareness.

Report of a man checking cars at 4.30am in Urmston

A resident checked his notifications from his CCTV and discovered a male had been checking vehicles in the Royston Rd/Sherborne Rd area of Urmston at 4.30 this morning.

He was also spotted at 5.10am around the Skye Road/Shetland Way area.

The male was described as wearing grey bottoms dark grey hoody or top with black trainers and carrying a rucksack.

The incident was first reported on the Urmston M41’ers Facebook page.

Thieves steal coronavirus victims car

A Kia Sportage belonging to a couple that passed away from Covid-19 has been stolen from Chorlton. Details of the theft were shared on the Chorlton Facebook page earlier today by the victims daughter. If you spot the car in your area parked up please report it to police by calling 101.

Two men spotted searching vehicles in Brooklands

Around 3am on Saturday 2nd January, two men wearing balaclavas were spotted on Cranleigh Drive, Brooklands.

They were seen trying car and house doors. They managed to open a car without breaking in and took items out of the boot.

Its possible that this is the same males who were around Blackwood Drive, Carrswood Road & Maple Road on the 29th December.

The incident has been reported to the police.

Chilling Ring video shows attempted break-in in Sale

A Ring doorbell camera captures the moment when three men attempted to break into a home in Sale, Trafford.

This is the second time the home was targeted this month, only this time the home owner had beefed up security with a doorbell camera.

It happened early in the morning, just before 7am on Friday 27th November on Dumber Lane. 

In the video the three men can be seen running away from the property and moments later reflection of car lights can be seen as they make their escape in a red vehicle, possibly an Audi and drove in the direction on Gleblands Road.
