Man spotted trying front door handles in Flixton this afternoon

Police have issued a warning after a male was spotted trying the door handles of people’s homes in Flixton.

At 4.45pm today Police received reports from a concerned members of the public after a male who was riding a purple mountain bike had approached and tried several front door handles on Lansdowne Road.

The male was described as wearing a grey tracksuit with a black cap under his hood and black leather gloves.

Police also said that within minutes of the call officers were on scene however; the male had left in the direction of Woodsend.

Burglar climbs into house and steals key

A brazen theif climbed through a bedroom window and stole the patio key all whilst the occupants were in the kitchen of the house on Irlam Rd in Flixton.

The theft, which happened around midnight on Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning (28th July) was discovered when a plank of wood used by the offender to climb into the window was spotted by the occupants.

The thief had let themselves out the patio door and taken the key with them.

It is not known how many people were involved in the theft.

Details of the incident were shared on the Urmston M41’ers Facebook page.

The locks have since been changed and a security camera system has been installed. The police are investigating the incident.

Woman charged after Flixton thefts

Officers have charged a woman in connection with thefts from vehicles in the Flixton area.

Lisa Rigby of Eldon Road, Salford, was arrested in the early hours of Thursday 25th March 2021 after officers from B Relief Response Team and the Tactical Dog Unit responded to reports of offenders interfering with vehicles in the Flixton area.

The 40 year old has been released on bail to appear at Manchester Magistrates Court on Thursday 22nd April 2021.

Police Operation targeting Urmston, Flixton and Davyhulme areas results in 3 arrests.

This weekend police officers from the Trafford West Area changed their shifts to nights following an increase in burglaries and vehicle crime in the Urmston, Flixton and Davyhulme areas.

In the early hours of this morning officers responded to reports of males trying car door handles in the Flixton area.

Three juvenile males were spotted and made off from the officers and were pursued on foot through gardens where they were detained by the officers.

All three were arrested on suspicion of vehicle interference and enquires are ongoing.

The incident happened at 3.20am on the 9th February on Woodsend Rd and the occupants of the house were alerted after the Blink camera system sent an alert to their phone.

The men can be seen creeping up to the door before examining the lock before leaving.

The police were called who promptly arrived and searched the area but were unable to locate the males.

The locks were ‘3 Star’ Ultion branded and snap proof. When a Ultion lock detects an attack it activates Lockdown Mode. A hidden firing pin in the locks core secures the central cam and stops the intruder being able to open the door.

The police have taken a copy of the footage.
