Suspected burglar from Sale arrested after seen jumping from window

Police responded to a burglary in progress on Wednesday (5th January). Officers from GMP Trafford South responded to reports of a burglary in progress on Brooklands road to assist officers from Wythenshawe police station

The suspect, named by police as Carl Leather of Conway road, Sale was arrested after he was seen jumping from a first floor window of the property in attempt to evade police officers.

Following a short foot pursuit through neighbouring gardens the suspect was eventually detained by officers and found to be in possession of jewellery taken from the property.

Mr Leather, who was previously jailed for 3 years for a burglary from an address in Sale in 2013 was remanded into custody to appear at Manchester magistrates today (06/01/2022) where he has been further remanded to Manchester Crown Court on 10/02/2022.

Gang steal vehicles and Christmas presents in early morning burglary

A gang of thieves broke in to a house and stole vehicles and Christmas presents from an addess in Partington at around 3.20 am this morning. (14th December).

The burglary was committed on Mersey Drive, in Partington where 3 males have gained entry via the rear patio door.

Police believe the offenders have driven to the area in a black VW Golf.

A vehicle similar to the stolen Mercedes

The vehicles stolen were a Black Mercedes A250 Registration GU70 OSK and a Red Ford Transit Connect Registration YM16 NWT.

Man spotted trying front door handles in Flixton this afternoon

Police have issued a warning after a male was spotted trying the door handles of people’s homes in Flixton.

At 4.45pm today Police received reports from a concerned members of the public after a male who was riding a purple mountain bike had approached and tried several front door handles on Lansdowne Road.

The male was described as wearing a grey tracksuit with a black cap under his hood and black leather gloves.

Police also said that within minutes of the call officers were on scene however; the male had left in the direction of Woodsend.

Burglar climbs into house and steals key

A brazen theif climbed through a bedroom window and stole the patio key all whilst the occupants were in the kitchen of the house on Irlam Rd in Flixton.

The theft, which happened around midnight on Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning (28th July) was discovered when a plank of wood used by the offender to climb into the window was spotted by the occupants.

The thief had let themselves out the patio door and taken the key with them.

It is not known how many people were involved in the theft.

Details of the incident were shared on the Urmston M41’ers Facebook page.

The locks have since been changed and a security camera system has been installed. The police are investigating the incident.

Disturbing CCTV shows masked gang attempting to break into a Timperley home

Three masked thugs were spotted on Ring video doorbell footage trying to gain entry to a property in Timperley.

The attempt happened just after 3am on Sunday morning (27th June).

There were reports on social media that the group had also been spotted on Westwood Avenue, Park Road and Alexandra Drive.

The incident has been reported to Police.

Suspected burglar caught on camera climbing fence in Urmston

A suspected burglar was spotted on CCTV climbing into a back garden in Davyhulme.

The footage shows the suspect walking onto a driveway before climbing over a fence into a back garden.

The incident happened early on Saturday morning (12th June)  at 3.45am on Kirkstall Rd in Davyhulme.

Nothing was taken but it is believed the person, who had their face covered had checked the doors were locked.

A Ring camera captured the moment a garage was broken into in the early hours of the morning.

The break-in happened when a person entered the owners rear garden and broke the lock off the door at around 3am on Tuesday morning (8th June).

The incident happened on Mossdale Road in Sale and the victim shared the video to the M33 Community and Crime facebook page to raise awareness.

Luckily there was nothing taken and the owner has since improved the security of the garage should the offender return.

CCTV of suspected afternoon burglary suspects in Sale

CCTV footage has been shared which allegedly shows thieves entering a garden of a house that was burgled near Woodheys Park in Sale in the afternoon of Monday 3rd May.

The burglary occurred at around 3.30pm in Kenmore Road and the CCTV footage from a neighbours house shows the two suspects, one wearing dark clothing and wearing a rucksack and the other dressed all in grey entering the garden.

Thieves disturbed during blow torch burglary attempt

At around 2am this morning thieves were disturbed trying to break into a home in Ashton Village.

A blow torch was being used by the gang to burn the lock to enable it to be opened.

The occupants heard the attempt and managed to scare the offenders away.

It’s the second time this property was targeted after a car was stolen from the address in June last year.

Thieves disturbed in morning Timperley blow torch burglary attempt

A resident was disturbed by thieves who were attempting to break into his property on Granville road in Timperley at 7am this morning.

Three men wearing black balaclavas arrived by car and ran round the back of the property. They were trying to burn the lock off the door when they were disturbed by the occupier.

Blowtorch burglary is a method of entry used by thieves where thieves are using a blowtorch to attack door handles and locks. It is being done mostly on uPVC and composite doors.

The police had been called by a neighbour who had seen the males, arrived in minutes but the group had already left the scene.
